Ptero Zallik is a striking figure due to his extensive Simic modifications, which give him a partly crustacean appearance. From his torso, huge crusted rust-red, and bumpy claws extend, resembling the exterior of a crab. The arms end in enormous pincers, adding to his imposing presence. This drastic transformation is a result of the Simic Combine's advanced biomancy, blending merfolk features with those of a crab, making him both formidable and distinctive.
Ptero Zallik is characterized by his arrogance and competitive nature. As a senior clutch tender, he often boasts about his students' prowess and his achievements. He exhibits a condescending attitude towards Medge and seems to delight in undermining her. Despite this, there is a hint of respect and recognition of skill buried beneath his bravado.
