The Red Iron Mountains are metal-rich mountains located on the continent of Aerona on Dominaria, east of Benalia.[1]
Description[]
The mountains consist of harsh jagged peaks with shale cascading down the ravines, and alpine blooms drooping from the meadows in sprays of purple and gold.[2] Here stands a massive androgynous statue of some hero whose story had been lost to time. The shadowed valleys contain the remains of rotting war machines from the Phyrexian Invasion, forgotten beneath emerald mosses and upright sword ferns, inert as boulders. Grover's and the Peregrinator Complex are located here, a three days ride between them.[3]
To the east, the Red Iron Mountains are connected to the Hurloon Mountains and the Ironclaw Mountains. To the west lies Benalia.
History[]
Around 4070 AR, Benalia tried to extend its influence into the mountains.[4]The mountains' native Crookshank Kobolds fared poorly during the Rift Era, and in the Mending Era the mountains became dotted with Benalish mining settlements.[5] In 4562 AR, the mountains were used as a staging ground for Danitha Capashen's Benalish troops, to fight the Second Phyrexian Invasion.[2]
