Rezajaelis Agnaus, who usually goes by Reza, is a vedalken lawmage, part of the Azorius Senate on the plane of Ravnica.
Description[ | ]
Reza is a tall, blue-skinned vedalken with a bald head, characteristic of his race. His attire typically includes the formal, pristine robes of an Azorius lawmage, which reflect his dedication to law and order. Despite his composed exterior, Reza's expressive eyes often reveal his inner thoughts and emotions, especially during moments of stress or contemplation.
Reza is diligent, logical, and deeply committed to justice. His strong belief in the rule of law drives his actions, but his experiences in the Thinktank reveal a capacity for empathy and adaptability. Initially rigid and rule-bound, Reza evolves to appreciate the importance of understanding and integrating diverse perspectives into the law. His quick thinking and ability to act under pressure, demonstrated during the elemental attack, showcase his resourcefulness. Reza's willingness to challenge the status quo and embrace mentorship signals his growth and dedication to shaping a fairer future for Ravnica.
History[ | ]
Reza, a dedicated and meticulous vedalken lawmage, navigated the complex and ancient corridors of the Old Laws Library, searching for his sphinx mentor, Tagan. The library was steeped in the history and origins of Ravnica's laws, and Reza immersed himself in his research, reflecting on the intricacies and importance of legal perfection. Tagan informed Reza that his latest law rune had been highly praised and would be inscribed in the skies above New Prahv.
Encouraged by this recognition, Reza decided to pursue another challenging legal issue and visited the Historical Archives. On his first flight on a griffin, he was startled by an electrical attack on a nearby thopter, causing him to fall. He landed in a pile of trash in the Thinktank, a chaotic and ungoverned area, where he met Hendrik, a large, friendly man who offered to help him. Despite his initial reluctance, Reza decided to follow Hendrik to clean up and find his way back to New Prahv.
Reza ventured into the Thinktank with Hendrik. Expecting comfort in Hendrik's home, Reza found the interior worse than anticipated, filled with brass piping and steam. They met Janin, Hendrik's companion, who helped Reza clean up after his fall. Reza learned about Janin's upbringing among vedalken and reflected on the Thinktank's self-reliance. The trio headed to Hendrik's workshop amidst chaotic inventors and a looming sense of danger. Reza experienced a panic attack in the crowd, and while seeking solitude, he was mugged.
Seeking help, Reza encountered Azorius arresters who mistook him for a suspect. He narrowly escaped, thanks to Hendrik and Janin in a stolen Azorius vehicle. They spotted an electrical elemental attacking the Thinktank, and Reza conjured a law rune to grant the Thinktank sovereignty, allowing Azorius forces to intervene. The elemental was subdued, solidifying Reza’s bond with Hendrik and Janin.
Back in New Prahv, Reza drafted a law to formally recognize the Thinktank Enclave. His mentor, Tagan, challenged him to become a mentor himself, inspiring future lawmages to shape laws that met Ravnica’s current needs. Reza embraced this new role, hopeful for the future of justice.
