The Rigida were ancient ice beings that rose to power at the Start of the Ice Age in 450 AR.
Description[]
Though sometimes referred to as beasts or monsters, this reflected their personalities rather than their appearance, as they were humanoid with icy features. Their civilization was advanced enough to form a Glacial Kingdom that ruled over most of Almaaz during the Ice Age and were powerful enough that their rule continued through the frozen millennia until the Thaw.[1] With the Flooding of Terisiare, the Rigida lost their grip on Almaaz, and their frozen reign finally ended.[2]
The last of the Rigida were known as the Three Sisters. After killing the two others, Drufalden was the sole remaining Rigida[3], reigning from a palace made of pure ice, nestled in the crater of a frozen volcano. Drufalden's reign in the Borderlands of Almaaz lasted until 3050 AR, when her hold was broken by the songmage Ogwater Rifkin, and the ice of her queendom melted completely.[2]
