Rip is a human survivor on Duskmourn.

Description[ | ]

Taciturn and reclusive, Rip is a veteran monster hunter who prefers to work alone and is happiest when she's bashing a monster's head in. She wields a homemade technological weapon that sends a jolt of electrical currents, and also a more conventional flamethrower. Rip is a scarred, grizzled veteran of many battles inside the House, and has the experience and wisdom that comes with it. Rip knows that one should always burn the bodies of the fallen, or they might come back wrong. In Rip's younger days, she would meticulously catalog all the encountered terrors. In Rip's more mature days, the terrors are mostly just killed with fire.[1][2][3][4]

History[ | ]

Almost every survivor group has at least one member with a story of being rescued from near-certain death by Rip or one of stumbling across a newly established safe zone that she's cleared of a monster infestation and replenished with food and supplies. In the past, Rip used to be a member of the Doorblades, a small band of survivors dedicated to killing the House's monsters, but she left them when she realized that her growing friendships were clouding her instincts, making her less effective as a hunter. She's commonly referred to as "the savior of the House": an epithet that would make her feel extremely awkward and uncomfortable if she ever became aware of it.[5]
