Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition is a product in the Secret Lair product range. It is similar to a drop in the Secret Lair Drop Series, but with a different distribution model.[3] It becomes available for purchase at your local game store on June 12, 2020. The original release was May 29, but this was pushed back because of a delay in manufacturing due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[4]
Description
Ultimate Edition is a collection of the five Zendikar enemy colored fetch lands last seen in Modern Masters 2017, featuring art from five of Magic's premier artists set in five popular Magic planes. The lands are packaged in a commemorative box that can be used for display. In contrast to the Drop Series, Ultimate Edition isn't sold through the webshop of Wizards of the Coast, doesn't have an availability window and isn't printed to demand.[3] Copies are limited — WPN stores were announced to typically receive no more than 10 copies of Ultimate Edition.

Price controversy
Although Wizards of the Coast didn't use suggested retail prices anymore, Blake Rasmussen expected the price to be "a bit more" than the price of Commander Anthology (> $165.00).[5] In actuality, many stores only received four or five boxes and the price skyrocketed to $275-$500. This led to criticism, because the release didn't solve the lack of availability of fetchlands, and the price wasn't affordable by regular players but targeted at "whales" (big spenders) instead.[6]
Other availability
The week after Secret Lair: Ultimate Edition goes on sale at WPN stores, Wizards of the Coast will be running a Summer Super Drop. If you purchase the bundle that combines each drop that goes on sale during the superdrop, you'll receive one random Ultimate Edition fetch land for each bundle you purchase. In addition, Fetchlands will be reprinted in a Supplementary Product in 2020.
