Secret Lair Drop Series: Marvel is a superdrop in the Secret Lair product range and a continuation of the alternate art Secret Lair Drop Series. It became available for purchase from the Wizards of the Coast webshop secretlair.wizards.com on November 4, 2024.[2]

Description[]

This superdrop is the first result of the collaboration between Hasbro (Wizards of the Coast) and Marvel Entertainment. It is also a tease for the 2025 Universes Beyond tentpole set Marvel's Spider-Man. The contents of each drop were revealed on the Magic panel at New York Comic-Con on October 18, 2024.[3][4]

The superdrop covers five of Marvel's iconic characters and includes a mechanically unique representation of that character alongside supporting cards. All five character cards feature the Hero creature type. First used in Limited Edition Alpha, Hero was phased out in the Grand Creature Type Update but remained as an acorn type for Fraction Jackson (Unhinged).

For every $200 spent in a single order, you get a borderless Secret Lair Promo, Earth's Mightiest Emblem with art by Alexander Forssberg depicting the Avenger's logo.[2]

Four cards, the face heroes of Black Panther, Captain America, Iron Man, and Wolverine, were leaked via Facebook Marketplace on September 22, 2024.[5]

Availability[]

This is a limited release, not print-to-demand.[6] Although the drops were printed in large quantities, Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks told investors that it would sell out immediately.[7]

There was long waiting queue, and within four hours all drops sold out.[8][9] Immediately, scalpers began offering the cards on resale websites for heavily inflated prices.

Since The List is retired, it is unclear if or how the five mechanically unique cards will get a Universes Within version. This creates a situation with unavailable cards for the larger public, similar to when Secret Lair Drop Series: The Walking Dead was released.
