Sharp-Ear was a kitsune ranger from the Sugi Hayashi village on Kamigawa, and a brother to Pearl-Ear.[1] Having been left in service of tutoring Michiko in Eiganjo when his sister wanted to visit her home village, his underestimation of Choryu's abilities in fact started a chain of events eventually leading to the end of the Kami War.

Sharp-Ear was rather short, very nimble, and both sharp-witted and sharp-tongued. Aside from being a skilled tracker and ranger, he was an expert yabusame mounted archer and archery instructor.
