Signature Spellbook
Signature Spellbooks, introduced in 2018, are the spiritual successor to the From the Vault series, but are themed around a Planeswalker or legendary character and the spells that define who they are.[1]
Description[edit | edit source]
Each box set contains eight different cards, as well as a foil card which may be any of these eight cards.[2] They have an MSRP of $19.99.[3]
According to Sam Stoddard, one of the goals of the Signature Spellbook Series is to make sure as many of the cards as possible end up in decks as opposed to binders.[4] Gavin Verhey added that the chosen amount of cards assures that every reprint is relevant, and fluff is avoided.[1][5] He also noted that legendary creatures as the featured character are a possibility, as are multicolored sets.
After three years, the series was seemingly cancelled.[6]
