Sloth is a creature type used for cards that depict slow-moving tropical mammals with long limbs and hooked claws. Sloths may hang upside down from the branches of trees and often have mosses or plants growing on their back.

History[]

The first depicted sloths in the game were Arboreal Grazer from War of the Spark and Relic Sloth from Strixhaven: School of Mages, though both were typed as Beasts. The same was true for the Complaints Clerk from Unfinity, which could be considered a Sloth-folk.

The creature type was finally introduced for Lumbering Megasloth from Universes Beyond: Fallout. All three earlier cards gained the correct type in the Oracle update for that set. The first new card in-universe was Hungry Megasloth (Foundations Jumpstart)
