Gavin Verhey gave a teaser with the following hints about the new cards in the Commander decks:[2]

  1. There's a permanent with an activated ability you can only use if a creature fought this turn — Boxing Ring
  2. There's a card that has the clue subtype — Agent's Toolkit
  3. There's the first ever legendary creature of a creature type people have been asking us to make for years — Syrix, Carrier of the Flame (Phoenix)
  4. There's a card that mechanically fits in with a weird cycle of cards from Invasion block — Make an Example (with the incomplete cycle of Fact or Fiction)
  5. There's a new twist on a cycle that originally appeared in a previous Commander product — Confluences (Brokers Confluence, Cabaretti Confluence, Maestros Confluence, Obscura Confluence, Riveteers Confluence)
  6. There's a noncreature card which has three instances of "three" - the word - and three instances of 3 - the number - printed on it — Threefold Signal
