"Stripland" is a slang term referring to any land card that can be sacrificed to destroy another land. The earliest and most famous of the "striplands" is Strip Mine from Antiquities, from which the slang term comes. All of them can {T}: Add {C} to your mana pool.

Example

Non basic land destruction

While Strip Mine can destroy any land, later striplands had come with only non basic land destruction.

The Ghost Quarter land from Dissension is a bit special, because it can destroy any land but its controller may search his or her library for a basic land card and put it onto the battlefield.

Field of Ruin from Ixalan is similar, it destroys for {2} and {T}, then both you and your oponent get to seach your respectice libraries for a basic land and put it onto battlefield.
