The Sword of the Animist, also known as the Stem Sword and Bitterthorn while under compleation, is a legendary artifact sword wielded by the planeswalker Nissa Revane.
Description[ | ]
The Sword of the Animist or Stem Sword is a concealed weapon hidden within the Nissa Revane's staff. It is a thin blade with a sharp point, a design optimized for stabbing over cutting. It channels mana into the wounds it causes, which can cause vines to sprout from the wounds.[1] The staff was later fused into her skin as a right arm during her Compleation, while the sword became Bitterthorn - a Phyrexian living weapon. The sword and staff were later cleansed of their oil during her un-compleation.[2]
