Terena was the elven queen of the Llanowar elfhame Ruadach on Dominara.
History[]
As a young girl, she traveled to a distant corner of Llanowar close to the Ath Mountains to gather Taradomnu roots to cure her father Aedhan, who had been poisoned by her power-hungry brother, Beothach. On her way, she met a nice human boy named Grenfher, whose family and village had been killed by the xenophobic prince. Prince Beothach found them and attacked, but Terena used the Taradomnu herbs to form a Circle of Protection, making her brother's death magic rebound back onto himself, killing him. That night, Terena and Grenfher made love, a taboo union between elves and humans. However, getting back to the Elfhame, she discovered she was too late to heal her father, as he had been assassinated by Semion, the healer's assistant, the night before. Because of Ruadach inheritance law, the throne was destined to go to the sons of her now-dead brother, since Terena had no children herself. Fortunately, the healer Macha Mac Aonghus was surprised to sense that Terena had been pregnant since the evening before, which allowed her to take the throne for herself and her half-human child according to the letter of the law.[1]
Terena ruled for 400 years until she was killed in the Phyrexian invasion. Her half-elven daughter now rules as Queen Allenal.[2]
