Terisia City, also referred to as The Ivory Towers, was the oldest and most advanced city-state on Terisiare at the time of the Brothers' War on Dominaria.[1]

Description[ | ]

Terisia City was surrounded by thick, white-marble walls and all manner of carved creatures adorned the stonework. It was located far to the west of the continent and notable for its beauty The rooftops were made of crystal and stained glass. High, decorated Ivory Towers circled the place, and within them, ballistae and other protective weapons were housed. In 33 AR, Terisia City was host to the Union of the Third Path. It served as the seat of the Ivory Tower, an order of bookkeepers named after the city's towers, as well as the Third Path, a newly formed organization which studied the arcane. The Third Path was led from the tallest ivory tower by the Archimandrite, the leader of the city.[2]

History[ | ]

By the time of the Brothers' War, Terisia City was an ancient place.[1]

In 45 AR, after banishing Ashnod from the Fallaji Empire, Mishra became inclined to raze Terisia City, listening to the Brotherhood of Gix whispering in his ear. The Terisian defenses were implacable and held the Fallaji at bay for months, even shooting a flying dragon engine out of the sky. Unarmed civilians were slowly transported out of the city through secret passages, while the Third Path sought magical knowledge with which to combat their foes, with Hurkyl is their main source of knowledge. It is possible that the Fallaji would have been permanently stalled outside the walls if it had not been for the Gixians, who years earlier had been welcomed into the Third Path. They eventually betrayed the city and opened the gates to the onslaught.[3] Hurkyl died as one of the defenders, casting a spell that would be named in memory of her - Hurkyl's Recall - to disappear three of Mishra's dragon engines.[2] Terisia City was sacked by forces under the command of Hajar and burned to cinders. Feldon and Loran were among those who escaped through the secret tunnels, while the fates of Drafna and the Archimandrite are unknown.[1]

After its ruin, Terisia City became a location used as a military base in the war, since the city's walls yet remained. This location was taken and retaken several times afterwards.[1]

It is believed that Terisia City's ruins lie in the current day Kovrian Wastelands.[4]
