The Veil's Curse is a webcomic about Garruk, Jace, Liliana. It continues the story of Fuel for the Fire and of The Hunter and the Veil. It was originally published in three parts in July and August 2009.

Part 1

Ravnica. Jace Beleren studies the Dragon Scroll that he took from Chandra Nalaar. He suspects it is a map, and that lives may depend on it. However, he nor his people of the Infinite Consortium are able to decipher the coded runes beyond the words invisble eye and sheer fire.

Shandalar. Garruk Wildspeaker recovers from his fight with Liliana Vess, and discovers that the witch has warped his body with her black magic. Purple veins crawl under his skin and he reeks of death. When he summons a beast to help him escape the Onnake catacomb, he discovers that his powers are tainted as well. The beast is undead and corrupted, and Garruk has to kill it to release it from its suffering. Emerging from the caves, Garruk finds that all his senses are deafened and that the cures he knows don't work against his curse. Unable to find a trace of Liliana, Garruk decides to find the one who might know Liliana's whereabouts. Although he had earlier vowed to never visit it again, he planeswalks to Ravnica.

Part 2

Tavelia. Wearing the Chain Veil, Liliana and her horde of zombies easily conquer a fortress. Feeling alive, Liliana realizes the power of the Veil is greater than she had imagined.

Ravnica. Jace Beleren is disturbed by the arrival of Garruk Wildspeaker. Jace notices a strange texture to Garruk's mind, something gnawing at its edges. Garruk destroys all safeguards and comes face to face with Jace. He demands to know Liliana's whereabouts.

Tavelia. Liliana sits in the throne room of the fortress, surrounded by the bodies of the defeated soldiers. She contemplates the Chain Veil and why Kothophed wanted it so bad. She realizes that the Chain Veil is potent enough to confront the demon himself. She decides to pay Kothophed a visit, and planeswalks away. From the shadows of the throne room, Sarkhan Vol reports Liliana's departure with the Chain Veil to his master.

Part 3

Ravnica. Unwilling to reveal Liliana's whereabouts, Jace tries to calm Garruk and persuade him to visit a healer. They fight, and the mindmage notices that Garruk's hostility is not his own. Temporarily coming to his senses, Garruk apologizes. Jace offers to visit Emmara Tandris together and to lead Garruk to Liliana afterward. The barbarian declines because he knows that his sickness is not from the flesh. Jace finally reveals that Liliana's last known location was Tavelia. Garruk thankfully leaves. As a parting gift, he reveals that he knows that the Dragon Scroll points to Zendikar, and warns Jace to be careful on that plane.

Far from Tavelia on Kothophed's plane. Liliana confronts Kothophed and demands to be freed from her contract. The demon laughs and declares the Chain Veil, her youth, and her life forfeit. Stating that it is no negotiation, the necromancer attacks the demon with the full force of the Chain Veil. Realizing that he is overpowered, Kothophed tries to warn Liliana that using the Chain Veil has dire consequences and that killing him won't get her what she seeks. Liliana is unfazed by his words. Ordering him to remove his words from her skin, she ruthlessly finishes the demon. One down (and three to go), Liliana exhaustedly drops to the ground. The tattoos on her left arm are bleeding.
