Training counters are a type of counter introduced in Champions of Kamigawa. They mark creatures turned into Samurai with bushido, by Sensei Golden-Tail.
Description[]
Training counters first appeared on Sensei Golden-Tail in Champions of Kamigawa. It is a creature with an activated ability to place a Training counter on a creature. The creature gains bushido 1 and becomes a Samurai in addition to its other creature types. This represents the creature being trained to become a Samurai.
Trivia[]
- In Magic Online, the counter is colored green as it's considered a positive effect and shares its icon with Net and Pin counters.[1]
- The counter itself does not add abilities or creature types. It only serves to mark those creatures.[2]
