History[ | ]

Vis Svokunol was Asterion’s childhood caretaker, a loxodon whose past was shrouded in tales of his time as a mercenary. Despite his fearsome reputation, Vis was a gentle and caring figure in Asterion's life, guiding him with stories and wisdom. However, Vis's past eventually caught up with him when a traveling merchant identified him as "The Butcher," a notorious mercenary known for his ruthless actions during the wars. He was arrested and subjected to a humiliating public punishment, left in a stockade without food or water for three days until he succumbed to his suffering. Asterion’s father, Lord Teutamos, bound by the rigid laws of their society, pronounced the sentence, leading to Vis’s death in a pauper’s grave. This tragic event left a profound impact on Asterion, driving him to seek redemption for his father’s actions by uncovering the lost city of Zantafar in Vis's name.
