Vren, known as the Relentless, is a legendary ratfolk rogue from Bloomburrow.

Description[ | ]

Vren's amber eyes reflect the gleam of the magical orb he clutches in one hand.[1] The orb glows with an eerie purple light, casting an otherworldly glow on him and his surroundings. In his other hand, he wields a makeshift weapon fashioned from a twisted piece of root. His armor is an unusual and beautiful assemblage of pressed roses, the petals seemingly preserved in a way that combines delicate beauty with practical resilience. A spiky pauldron juts out from one shoulder, and a tattered purple cloak, worn with the hood up, drapes over his shoulders. Covering his face from the bridge of his nose to his forehead is a distinctive face guard made of tiny black pieces of slate, providing a mysterious and intimidating visage.

Vren is well known among the dead and dying.[2] He has a penchant for following closely behind the trails of Calamity Beasts, hoping to find the best odds and ends to recycle. When he can't find things to recycle, he'll make his own. In the marshes, a single wound can spell doom, either through infection or the sharp end of Vren's knife. He's recruited a gang large enough to fill a small rabbitfolk village and, on his orders, they'll do just about anything short of dying. Still, his efforts are not always malicious. When Calamity Beasts do come by and need to be driven off rather than escaped from, he can be seen setting up shop and selling arms and armor to those who might need it — and at a bargain to boot. He figures that the margins on recycled goods are nearly a hundred percent, so he's making a profit anyway.
