Timeline
Festival of Estark Wizards' War Arzakon's War

The Great Wizards' War was Lim-Dûl's second campaign to dominate Shandalar and was fought against the five wizard schools founded by The Guardian.[1]

Description[ | ]

The details of the war are not well established, but it is known that all five guildlords and The Guardian, whose names have all been lost to time, participated in the war. The Black Guildlord was killed during this war, while the others survived. Although Lim-Dûl had amassed great power and had almost conquered all of Shandalar during Lim-Dûl's War many years earlier, this time he was hopelessly outmatched against the defenders of the plane.[1]

Upon Lim-Dûl's defeat, the Guardian removed the necromancer's soul from Azar’s body and imprisoned it within a magical artifact called the Chain Veil. This allowed the Great Barrier, now powered by Lim-Dûl's soul, to remain intact. There, Lim-Dûl would slumber for almost a thousand years, until a promising necromancer named Liliana Vess, lured by Lim-Dûl's whispers, claimed the relic in her quest for power. Meanwhile, Azar's soulless corpse was reanimated as the lichlord Skavius Slan, who took up the vacant position of the black guild's guildlord.
