Xavier Sal ([xaˈβjeɾ ˈsal][1]) was a human of the Brazen Coalition on Ixalan, and the mayor of Downtown.[2]

After Xavier was infected by mycoids, glowing button mushrooms replaced his eyes, and the Mycotyrant spoke through him.[3]

In 5 Dawn Era, Xavier and the other citizens of Downtown were infected by mycoids.[3]

- Xavier was originally planned as the commander of the Ahoy Mateys preconstructed commander deck.[1]
- Xavier's last name, "Sal," is Portuguese and Spanish for "salt," possibly relating to his oceanfaring life.
