Champion Zahur is a leonin zombie warrior charioteer from Amonkhet.[1] He originates from the lost era before Nicol Bolas.[2]
Description[]
Prepared with new wrappings and dressed in fine raiment, Zahur leads the Amonkheti delegation in the second Ghirapur Grand Prix, alongside Basri Ket and a crew of living and undead charioteers.[2] These racers ride to win glory and bring acclaim to Naktamun, Hazoret, the new gods, and the people of Amonkhet who still struggle to build a new plane of their own from the ruin of history.
History[]
A legendary charioteer whose name was scoured from history during Bolas's reign, Zahur's gloried tomb was discovered by Basri Ket during one of his expeditions into the Broken Lands. With the proper rites performed, Zahur rose from his grave and proudly stepped into the role of co-captain for the Champions of Amonkhet. He is the leader of the Maahestet, a once dominant race of leonin who have since been reduced to a cadre of declining undead. Determined to prevent their wasting, Zahur hopes to reap the rewards of the Ghirapur Grand Prix and bring a new dawn to both his people and his home.[3][4][5]
They formed a close bond after fighting a couple of tomb demons together.[6]
